A symbol that appears on a screen that lets the user to move it on the screen and do certain commands.

A printer that uses pens to print lines, it can creates maps, charts, and blue-prints.

Output devices


Devices that get information from outside a computer.

Optical storage devices


An optical disk that is a data storage medium. It writes and reads using a laser beam.

A digital versatile disk or digital video disk is a read-only memory disk that stores large amounts of data. It usually contains high-resolution audio-visual material.

A device that has buttons that allow you to control another device.

A binary digit that uses the value of 1or 0. It represents an information capacity's measurement. Its is the smallest unit of data transfer.

American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII)


The coding standard that is used to interchange information. It uses the English alphabet to represent the text in devices that uses text to be transmitted through it.

A medium sized computer that is a multiprocessing system. It has less memory than a mainframe.

A single integrated circuit that hold the central processing unit of a computer on a chip.

Microcomputer


A computer that has a small to medium size capacity that uses microchip technology. It preforms some of the functions of a larger computer.

Mainframe Computers


A high performance computer that is specifically used large-scale purposes that require high security and greater availability.

Local Area Network (LAN)


A computer network that stretches a small area.

Internet


The largest interconnected system of networks that connect computers as a communication device.

Hardware


The physical electronic and mechanical parts that make up a computer system.

A computer network that has a set of devices and/or computers that can exchange data.
